During my 4 weeks with Hazel in my quest to become a 'dog groomer' I went through a number of emotions including: extreme enjoyment, frustration, lack of confidence, relief that I could actually turn out some good work and then reality checks. After all, how much can you learn in 4 weeks when you compare Hazel's 30 years worth of experience?? You can learn loads, however, you may not realise it until you get out into the grooming world and start doing it for yourself. Most of my clients have been unhappy with their previous groomers who quite obviously have not been trained to Hazel's high standards. I am new to this and am by no means an expert but the 'repair jobs' that I have done, along with the positive feed-back I have received from every one of my clients, means my confidence has soared. I am now grooming part-time and all my clients are by 'word-of-mouth' - this alone is a reflection on the excellent training I was given.
